The Department of Health Planning, Research and Statistics (DHPRS) serves as the strategic hub for evidence-based decision-making within the Ministry. We are responsible for comprehensive health sector planning, annual budgeting, and the rigorous monitoring and evaluation of all health activities across Sokoto State. By translating raw health data into actionable insights, we provide the critical information required to formulate policies that improve service delivery and health outcomes for our citizens.
Manages the centralized collection, analysis, and digital infrastructure of state-wide health data. This unit ensures high-quality data gathering by utilizing advanced digital collection and Quality Assurance (QA) platforms, such as ODK Central and KoboToolbox, for dynamic survey monitoring and rigorous data cleaning.
Oversees the financial architecture of health services, including the strategic management of the Basic Health Care Provision Funds (BHCPF) to ensure sustainable and equitable resource distribution.
Acts as the liaison for external collaborations, managing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework and aligning the efforts of international development partners with the State’s health objectives.
Regulates all medical and public health research to ensure strict ethical compliance , while also managing strategic data regarding Human Resources for Health (HRH).
Dedicated to formulating health responses, tracking data, and providing integrated support frameworks for victims of gender-based violence.
