Welcome to the Sokoto State Ministry of Health
Advancing Healthcare in Sokoto State Since 1976
The Sokoto State Ministry of Health emerged as part of the administrative structure following the creation of the State in 1976. As the principal institution responsible for healthcare administration, it plans, coordinates, and implements healthcare policies and services. The Ministry is dedicated to overseeing public health programmes, hospital management, and primary healthcare development across all local government areas.

Primary Health Care Development Agency (SSPHCDA)
Coordinating and implementing primary healthcare services and community-based health initiatives statewide.

Malaria Elimination Agency (SOSMEA)
Implementing comprehensive malaria prevention, vector control, and treatment programmes.

AIDS & TB Control Agency (SOSACAT)
Coordinating the State’s response to HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis through prevention, treatment, and advocacy.

Hospital Services Management Board (HSMB)
Supervising and maintaining the delivery of curative and preventive services across 21 General Hospitals.
