HEALTH COMMISSIONER INSPECTS RENOVATED SECTIONS OF SPECIALIST HOSPITAL SOKOTO
The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Sokoto State, Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar, on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, paid an inspection visit to Specialist Hospital Sokoto to assess the condition of the hospital and inspect some of its recently renovated facilities.
The Commissioner was received by the Chief Medical Director of Specialist Hospital Sokoto, Dr. Attahiru Isa Sokoto, who accompanied him during the inspection.
During the visit, the Commissioner and the Chief Medical Director jointly inspected the Maternity Ward, Antenatal Care (ANC) Centre, as well as Wards A, B and C.
Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar expressed satisfaction with the condition of the newly renovated sections of the hospital, noting that the improvements would contribute to providing a more conducive environment for patients and healthcare workers.
The Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining the renovated facilities to ensure their effective utilization and sustainability for the benefit of the people of Sokoto State.
He reiterated the commitment of the Sokoto State Government to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving the quality of healthcare services across the state.
The Commissioner was accompanied during the inspection by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Alh. Ibrahim Haliru Dingyadi, mni, and Directors from the Ministry of Health.
